Who is stickboy?

My name is Jonah Williamson, if you are a future client, then eventually you will see that I’m tall and skinny. I've gotten all the names such as, String Bean, Bean pole, and Stickboy. Stickboy is a weird name, but my hope is that you’ll remember it when you see my work. I want to make your vision happen on a schedule and have a professional feel to your video or photographs. At the same time I want my clients to feel comfortable while working with me. You can crack jokes with me, make fun of my football team, or even call me Stickboy. My point is, I want to do high-end films no matter how short or long the time line is without having to go through someones assistant or feeling awkward with a new face. I dress professional and practical for all my appointments whether it’s getting ready to film elegant weddings, or get down in the dirt to film dirt bikes and ATV’s.

I want my clients to know that I’m an open book, you’ll see my true genuine self in my videos. I’m not in the business of getting famous, I’m in the business of documenting memories.

I was born in Cincinnati Ohio, so naturally I am a die hard Bengals fan. If you are a fan of a division rival I’ll still do work for you, but I might have to throw a few football jokes. My interests include cameras, sports, and roller coasters. I love cameras because they are able to capture moments that last forever. I enjoy sports, especially football to be competitive with my friends. However, roller coasters fascinate me the most. From the design process, to building and construction, then finally actually riding the engineered adrenaline rush. Wherever I travel I am always trying to sneak in a quick trip to any nearby amusement parks to photograph and to ride as many coasters as I can.

At an early age I moved 8 hours north of Cincinnati to a small town called Cuba. The phrase “it takes a village to raise a boy,” could not have been more accurate for my life. Cuba, New York will always have a special place in my heart, as it has launched my video career from a small town kid to a young entrepreneur. I credit my fantastic High School that provided opportunities to lay the foundation for my future in video production. By no means was I an A+ student, but my school rarely shut down my ideas when I asked to do something new. I tried to make the most of my opportunities to develop my skills while at Cuba-Rushford. The teachers gave me professional videos jobs outside of school and even gave me tips on how to get students more involved with school media. If any of my teachers are here I don’t think this counts as “I made it,” but I’m glad I had your influence.

After High School I went to the University of Cincinnati for a Business Degree. However, after a year of school my video offers kept calling and I eventually received one I could’t turn down. The summer before my second year I received an offer to do all the media for a company’s advertising. I took the job and continue to work with this company to this day. I quickly realized I can make my company work without the expensive costs of a college degree. I opted for online classes in business to help with the business details of my company. I am always learning new ways to expand my trade and reach out to new clients.

My availability makes me stand out amongst other videographers, my bags stay packed for the calls on Thursday to fly out on Friday. Weddings

Weddings are where my career began…

On July 15th, 2013 I filmed my first wedding. I was only 13 and so excited for the opportunity and loved the final edit. Almost 7 years later, I cringe at the low quality edit and how the film looks due to where my skills are today. The bride loves her video and has told me she still tears up to this day and that’s all that matters to me, knowing my clients feel confident in their investment.

Today in 2019 my videos are the classiest and most cinematic films you can get in the area. I have filmed 50+ weddings since my start mostly local, although I have traveled to Las Vegas, Florida, and Ohio on multiple occasions. I love to film destination weddings and want to fit your budget to make your trip and your day as memorable as possible.
